ChainBay is currently operated by Juan Barreda, an individual based in Texas, United States.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how ChainBay collects, uses, stores, discloses, and protects information when users browse or use the ChainBay marketplace, connect a wallet, create a profile, buy or sell goods, communicate about orders, submit evidence, or use related marketplace features.
2. Information you provide
ChainBay may process information you submit directly, including usernames, display names, profile biographies, profile and storefront images, listing information, shipping information, order messages, delivery notes, dispute statements, uploaded evidence, shipment proof, and other marketplace content you provide.
3. Wallet and blockchain information
ChainBay processes wallet addresses, wallet-authentication signatures, transaction signatures, payment amounts, transaction status, and other blockchain information needed for login, checkout, payment verification, order tracking, refunds, and payment release. Public blockchain information may remain permanently available through the Solana network and third-party blockchain services.
4. Authentication and session information
ChainBay uses wallet signatures to authenticate users and may store an authentication session cookie in the browser after successful login. This cookie is used to maintain a signed-in session and support account security and authorized access to marketplace features.
5. Profile and public marketplace information
Certain information is intended to be public when provided, including usernames, display names, biographies, profile images, storefront banners, listings, listing images, seller reputation signals, reviews, and public storefront information. Users should not include sensitive personal information in public profile or listing fields.
6. Order and transaction information
ChainBay processes order details such as buyer and seller identifiers, listing information, quantity, payment status, amounts, marketplace fees, payment and release transaction signatures, fulfillment status, delivery confirmation, dispute status, timestamps, and other records necessary to operate and audit marketplace transactions.
7. Shipping and delivery information
For physical goods, ChainBay may process buyer delivery addresses, seller ship-from addresses, package information, carrier selections, shipping rates, labels, tracking numbers, tracking URLs, carrier events, delivery status, and related fulfillment records. Shipping information may be shared with sellers and shipping providers as reasonably necessary to fulfill an order.
8. Messages and dispute information
Order messages, dispute messages, evidence, delivery notes, photographs, documents, tracking information, and related communications may be stored and reviewed to support buyer-seller communication, fraud prevention, trust and safety, dispute resolution, and administrative review.
9. Uploaded files and images
ChainBay may store files users upload for listings, profiles, storefront banners, digital delivery, shipment proof, or dispute evidence. Users are responsible for ensuring uploaded content does not contain unnecessary sensitive information and that they have the right to upload and use that content.
10. Information collected automatically
ChainBay may automatically receive technical information necessary to operate and secure the service, such as request metadata, session information, timestamps, application errors, security events, and service logs. ChainBay does not currently describe the service as using behavioral advertising or third-party advertising tracking.
11. How ChainBay uses information
ChainBay uses information to authenticate users, operate profiles and storefronts, display listings, create and verify orders, process marketplace payment states, calculate shipping, generate labels, track delivery, provide digital delivery, support messages and reviews, resolve disputes, detect abuse or fraud, enforce marketplace rules, investigate security incidents, maintain records, and improve service reliability.
12. Service providers
ChainBay relies on service providers and infrastructure that may include hosting providers, database and storage providers, wallet software, Solana blockchain and RPC providers, blockchain-data providers, shipping and carrier platforms, and other technical vendors necessary to operate the marketplace. These providers may process information on ChainBay behalf according to their services and contractual or legal obligations.
13. Information shared between buyers and sellers
ChainBay may share marketplace information between buyers and sellers when necessary to complete an order. For example, sellers may receive buyer shipping information for physical fulfillment, and buyers may receive seller identity, storefront, shipping, tracking, or digital-delivery information associated with their order.
14. Legal, safety, and enforcement disclosures
ChainBay may preserve, review, or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, valid governmental requests, protect users or the public, investigate fraud or abuse, enforce marketplace policies, defend legal rights, or respond to security incidents.
15. Blockchain permanence
Blockchain transactions are recorded on public decentralized networks that ChainBay does not control. Information included in a public blockchain transaction, including wallet addresses and transaction signatures, may be publicly visible and generally cannot be deleted or changed by ChainBay.
16. Data retention
ChainBay may retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the marketplace, maintain transaction and audit records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, comply with legal obligations, and protect the integrity of the service. Different categories of information may be retained for different periods.
17. Security
ChainBay uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect marketplace information. These measures may include authenticated access controls, secure session handling, restricted server credentials, signed or protected file access, and transaction verification. No online system, wallet, blockchain, carrier, or storage provider can guarantee absolute security.
18. Your privacy choices and requests
Depending on applicable law and where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information, or to obtain information about how personal data is used or disclosed. Some information may not be deletable where retention is required for security, fraud prevention, transaction records, legal obligations, or because the information is recorded on a public blockchain.
19. Cookies
ChainBay uses a session cookie to keep authenticated users signed in and support account security. The current authentication session is designed to expire after a limited period. ChainBay may introduce additional strictly necessary or optional cookies in the future, in which case this policy and any required consent controls should be updated.
20. Children
ChainBay is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. ChainBay does not knowingly offer marketplace accounts to children under 18. If ChainBay learns that an ineligible minor has provided personal information through an account, ChainBay may restrict the account and take appropriate steps regarding the information as permitted by law.
21. International and third-party processing
Marketplace infrastructure and service providers may process information in locations different from the user location. Third-party wallet applications, blockchain networks, carriers, and other services have their own privacy practices, and users should review those policies when using those services.
22. Changes to this policy
ChainBay may update this Privacy Policy as the marketplace, vendors, legal requirements, or data practices change. The updated policy will be posted on ChainBay with a revised effective date when appropriate.
